In a world filled with hustle and bustle, it’s easy to forget about those who are most in need of our care and attention. Our teams recent visit to Sta. Rita’s de Casica Center had a clear goal — to bring joy and support to women and children who have experienced neglect, abuse, and abandonment. The Evalesco team based in Cebu were joined by Jeff, Belinda and Melody during a recent visit and they were determined to make this day special for the women and children, and thus, a gift-giving and feeding program was organised.
Located in the heart of Cebu City, Sta. Rita’s de Casica Center serves as a safe haven for women and children who have faced unimaginable challenges in their young lives.
Together our team set out to provide not only nourishment for their bodies but also warmth for their souls. We brought food for them to enjoy, along with school supplies and hygiene kits. But beyond the material gifts, we also shared with them in the gift of companionship and laughter. Through games and activities, we sought to remind the children that amidst life’s challenges, there are moments of joy and camaraderie waiting to be embraced.
As our visit drew to a close, and with smiles on their faces the children treated us to a dance performance—a touching expression of thanks.
Our visit to Sta. Rita’s de Casica Center was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact that a small gesture can have on the lives of others. Through our collective efforts, we were able to bring smiles to the faces of these remarkably resilient children and sow seeds of hope for a brighter tomorrow.
The children’s happiness on the day also bought huge smiles and hearts full of gratitude to our team. The impact of them welcoming us into their lives was as meaningful as anything we were able to provide to them.
As we reflect on this experience, we will continue to try to spread joy, uplift spirits, and make the world a little brighter for those in need.
