ETFs Coming of Age


Upon their 18th birthday in Australia, Harrison Worley of the Financial Standard interviewed a number of financial advisers, heads of investment houses, asset consultants and other investment professionals to ascertain the impact that Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) have had on the marketplace.

In today’s world, it seems there is nothing more difficult to achieve than consensus. Put it to a group of Australians that the sky is blue and you’re almost guaranteed to be faced with a diversity of views. However, ask a group of experts about the importance of the exchange-traded funds, and you’ll find a strange uniformity in their replies.

I was interviewed for this article given my experience as a Financial Adviser, however I also sit on the AAN Investment Committee and also on the AAN Asset Management investment committee that is directly responsible for managing the managed account portfolios for our group.
